This week on Down to Business, Derek Holt, vice president and head of capital markets economics at Scotiabank in Toronto, and Talan Iscan, a professor of economics at Dalhousie University in Halifax, discuss what rapidly rising inflation tells us about the economy.

Globalization has largely kept inflation under control for the past few decades, but with the pandemic, and increasingly geopolitical tensions have some economists worried that we’re entering a period of deglobalization.

That could lead to higher interest rates, as well as many other changes in the economy. As always the interviews are edited for clarity and brevity.
