The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey or JOLTS for February will be the highlight on Tuesday. The PMI Manufacturing Final, the ISM Manufacturing Index for March and the Construction Spending for February are the other major announcements.

Markets are closely watching Trump’s reciprocal tariff announcement on Wednesday, dubbed as ‘Liberation Day.’

In the Asian trading session, Gold prices hit a new record high, while the dollar was largely unchanged.

Early signs from the U.S. Futures Index suggest that Wall Street might open lower.

As of 8.10 am ET, the Dow futures were down 218.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were declining 24.25 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were sliding 75.00 points.

The U.S. major averages closed mixed on Monday. The Dow jumped 417.86 points or 1 percent to 42,001.76 and the S&P 500 climber 30.91 points or 0.6 percent to 5,611.85.

The Nasdaq bounced well off its lows but still ended the day down 23.70 points or 0.1 percent at 17,299.29

On the economic front, the PMI Manufacturing Final for March will be issued at 9.45 am ET. The consensus is 49.8, while it was up 52.7 in the prior month.

The ISM Manufacturing Index for March is scheduled at 10.00 am ET. The consensus is 49.6, while it was up 50.3 in the prior month.

The Construction Spending for February will be revealed at 10.00 am ET. The consensus is up 0.4 percent, while it was down 0.2 percent in the prior months.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey or JOLTS February will be published at 10.00 am ET. The consensus is 7.60 million, while it was up 7.74 million in the previous month.

Asian stocks ended mostly higher on Tuesday. China’s Shanghai Composite index rose 0.38 percent to 3,348.44. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index edged up by 0.38 percent to 23,206.84.

Japanese markets ended marginally higher. The Nikkei average ended little changed at 35,624.48 while the broader Topix index settled 0.11 percent higher at 2,661.73.

Australian markets rose sharply. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 climbed 1.04 percent to 7,925.20. The broader All Ordinaries index closed 0.92 percent higher at 8,126.90.
